Another Journey Begins

Here we are at Melbourne airport, about to begin a trip to the USA. Today, we fly to Chicago via Los Angeles – a total travel time of 21 hours.

It’s at times like this that I get some reward for all those years of business travel and many hours of sitting around airports. I still have my platinum frequent flier status with Qantas and this enables us to use the first class check in facilities.

It’s very nice to have someone take your bag from the car, check in without a long queue and have a nice lounge to sit on while you complete your paperwork. Then it’s into the priority queue through. Immigration and up to the first class lounge for eggs benedict and coffee for breakfast.

It’s a very nice experience indeed. If only the total trip would be this luxurious!
