Trendy Tokyo

After David finished work on Friday night, we met him at Ebisu and had dinner in a nearby restaurant.

We then walked through the streets of this rather trendy area to a locality called Daikanyama, where we finished with coffee in this trendy little cafe. It clearly stood out as a trendy area by the number of hairdressers and restaurants.

There seems to be a lot of places for coffee open during the day, but not so many at night – perhaps more people drink alcohol at night than coffee. When we arrived back at Shinjuku station, there were quite a number of ‘Salarymen’ going home from work late at night who were very ‘tired and emotional’ and needed to prop each other up otherwise they would fall over.
