Tuesday saw us taking some more activities to local sights. The south easterly wind has dropped and the weather is more settled and sunny. There are fewer clouds on the mountains.
In the morning we went on a 4WD trip to Kerry’s Lookout. This gave us views across the Kerry valley with views to Beaudesert and Mt Tambourine. We boiled the billy again for a cuppa and enjoyed some more damper for morning tea. Then it was back to the guest house for lunch.
 
After lunch, I left Jill behind as I went on a longer walk. I started along the main road for a kilometre and then took the 3km return track to Python Rock. This was an easy track to a clifftop at the point where the rainforest stops and the eucalypt forest begins. From the lookout, I could see across to Morans Falls, my next stop.
I followed the track back to the main road from where I picked up the track to the falls. Half way along, I passed the organized tour group from O’Reillys and soon became overrun by a family group with about half a dozen running and screaming children. They made it impossible to enjoy the solitude of the bush and even though I stopped to let them get ahead, I seemed to catch up with them each time within a few minutes.
I was back at the guest house (after walking about 8kms) by 4.30 for a shower and a drink before dinner.
